Book
of Kings II,
Chapter 17: 1-4.
“Moreover
Ahithophel said unto Absalom, let
me now choose out twelve thousand men, and I will arise and pursue
after David this night”.
Here,
as it goes in all
the books of Holy Scriptures,
we are talking about the opposition of “good” and “evil”,
“heaven” and “earth”, Christ and Satan. In this case, King
David represents “good”, and Absalom does
“evil.”
What is “good” in Scriptures? This is the true teaching of God - the doctrine of the figurative interpretation of the law of God. And what is “evil”? This doctrine of Satan: the doctrine of understanding of the law of God directly according to the text, which is false.
When any man
understands the law of God directly to
the text, he or she
should consider being obliged
to bloody sacrifices and burnt offerings to God. It
also implies being
obliged to fast in the modern sense, limiting yourself to eating and,
also, discriminating
food as “clean”
and “unclean”.
In fact this
is one of figurative
expressions used in
the law of God. For example, sacrificed “calves”
and “rams” are
the very words of the law of God in the literal sense that is a
misunderstanding. They are
metaphorical “unreasonable” creatures.
If they might be
“killed” and
“burnt” –
in a literally
interpretion – then
there would be nothing left of them,
and the smoke from the fire of faith in man's soul ascends to God. So
the product
of imaginative interpretation of Scripture
is the truth from God. This is exactly the
“fruit” that God
commanded us to grow in the soil (i.e., “earth”) of the God's
law. Actually, the
process of figurative
interpretation is our
“sacrifice” to God -
the same kind
of “burnt offering”
as we,
while being in the
process of figurative interpretation within ourselves,
are “burn out”
the words of the law of God in order they
would give us a spiritual warmth.
Thus, king David is the doctrine of the figurative interpretation of the law of God. As well as all the prophets including Moses, Jeremiah, etc. And “night” means the time in history when all the people of the world are misunderstood the law of God, as it goes directly from the text about the reign of Absalom. People at this time as it did not see in dark, in darkness, they are “blind” and “deaf”, as the prophet Isaiah said.
The phrase “I will arise and pursue after David this night” means that David (as the true doctrine of God) would come as though ahead of, it will be ahead in the future. In this the prophecy that Christ will come and save us. That is about the fact that after all the people have truly understood the law of God (by figuratively interpreting it) then Christ comes down and we will be saved from our mistakes, sins, and spiritual death during our physical life. But Absalom and his men (that is an incorrect method of understanding the law of God by interpreting it literally, as if chasing David) - seems to want comprehend the doctrine from God, but actually his goal is to kill David, that is to kill the messenger of God!

2 “And
I will come upon him while he is weary and weak handed, and will make
him afraid: and all the people that are with him shall flee; and I
will smite the king only”
“And I will come
upon him while he is weary and weak handed” - implies
that Absalom's
and his men attack
would only occur when people misunderstand
the law of God, that is directly in
the text. Metaphorically, in this
time people “not working”, their hands are
“put down”, i.e.
they are not working on imaginative interpretation of the law of God.
In other words, there was
a time when people
did correctly understand the law of God through their
imaginative interpretation. But as time passed, and people as though
tired of this process, they became fatigued. Here
then the hour came of attack Absalom and his men.
This is the time of arrival of Satan, that is
an offensive of the “night” or a time of
“darkness”.
“And all the people that are with him shall flee, and I will smite the king”. When we literally interpret the law of God, all the texts and even all the verses tell us about the same - the fact that David (or Moses, for example) is the correct doctrine of God, the doctrine of the figurative interpretation of the law of God. This is “the king”, single royal teaching, single great king of Israel. But when we understand the law of God literally, which is not true, then we would as though can see the different stories about various kings of Israel. This exactly about 12,000 soldiers who kill “one king”, “meek king”. The words “the people that are with him shall flee”, means that at that moment in our head will not even the thought that it is necessary figurative construe text of the law of God. We won't “see” these “people”, that is we will not be aware of these true meanings text of the law of God.

3 “And
I will bring back all the people unto thee: the man whom thou seekest
is as if all returned: so all the people shall be in peace.”
“All the people”
means different
meanings of the text
of God's law, as
if telling us various
stories of kings in
Israel. These
are different
meanings about
“Absalom's men”
and “Absalom's messengers”, alias
the servants of
Satan.
“The
man whom thou seekest is as if all returned: so all the people shall
be in peace” - that is, after
all the people of the world have not been
able to see the true meaning of God's
law - as it is now, -
then the power of “darkness” will come
- the power of Absalom, the
Satan's kingdom.
Everyone can see
“peace”
around, but,
actually there is
only separation and
division in countries,
nationalities,
religion, etc. Doesn't it confirm
the words of Scriptures
that Satan would
seize his power by
flattery? The devil
will be praising God
and, at the same time, keep doing
bad things. This is
what exactly happens
when any person
understands the law of God literally as it
goes in the text, which is false. As
a result, this
person keeps the law incorrectly.
4 And the saying
pleased Absalom well, and all the elders of Israel.
Of course Absalom and
Satan like this saying.
They couldn't hardly wait
for the time when people disregard the
prophets' teaching how to interpret the law of
God correctly to
see the truth.
